I have put down cigarettes and picked up vaping to help the quitting process. I'm going so strong! Last time I tried to quit, I only lasted 7 days. :)

Hi Jenniferfersure :) a big warm welcome to our lovely quit support community :) and a great big massive well done to you for reaching 11 days quit too :) :)

I see our lovely Briarwood has given you some great advice already :)

Your doing ever so well Jenny, you really are :) What I would like you to do please, is sit yourself down, and write out on a piece of paper, the WHY's you want to quit :o and perhaps make a few copies of it eh :) and where ever you think you will get the erg to think about smoking, then stick one their :)

make it colourful so it stands out :) this way, you will see it and read it and get it sort of drummed into your brain :)

Plus, try to think back to when you quit for 7 days, then started again :o Why did you start smoking again :o thinking back, could you have done something to help yourself :) What was the issue :o what time of day was it :o where were you at the time :o Try to make a plan, if you see what I mean :o sooooo, if that issue occurs again, you will be ready for it :) :)

Jenny, if you would be so kind as to let me know your quit date, then I can add you to the Wall of Winners and keep your Winners badge upto date :)

Please, please feel free to ask any questions, or if you just want a good old moan, or just a chat, then come on here and we will try to help you :) :)

Hoping to speak soon :) Pete :)

I quit on 8-9-15. I gave my pack of cigarettes away and immediately bought my vape. I have no urge to smoke a cigarette. The smell kind of bothers me now. My Vape satisfies my cravings. Thank you all for the supportive comments :)

Hi everyone! I quit 5 weeks ago. I feel pretty good but I sneeze a lot and have nasal congestion. I quit for 4 years before and started up again. This time it is for good.

Hiya EllahH, its lovely to meet you :) and a big warm welcome to our lovely quit support forum :)

5 weeks quit is just flippin ACE gal :) :) and as for your sneezing, ermm, quite a few of us seem to get what we've nick-named the quitters flue :D :D it should get easier for you soon :) if not, then please nip and see your GP and let them know you have quit :)

Just wandering Ellah, are you using any form of NRT to help you quit :o cos this could be a side affect from it :o and if you could please let me know your actual quit date, then I can sort you a Winners badge out and add you to the Wall of Winners :) :) Thank youuuuu :)

Pete :)

Hi and thank you. No, I quit cold Turkey. I quit July 16, 2015 when I landed in the ER. Enough to scare the pants off of me. I was never a heavy smoker in fact, I never finished a cig and went days in btw without smoking but I had a big scare and have not picked one up since that date.

Thank you..it isn't alway easy. I often think about my morning coffee (am caffeine free as well) and that 1 cig that began my morning...I'm waiting to see how I do when stressful situations come up. You're right it does help to talk and thanks again. I'm off to work shortly. Be awesome people and hang in there :-)

Hiya Ellah and welcome to quit support 😊

Congratulations on 5 weeks quit and caffeine as well, got to hand it to ya, that's awesome👍🏼

Keep up the good work and here's to a healthier future😊x

in reply toBriarwood

Thank you very much! Def healthier. At times I think if I didn't end up in the ER I probably would still smoke. I have to confess sometimes..only sometimes I recall what it was like to smoke my "former" best cig of the day...but even if I wanted to go back I can't it would kill me ..literally
