this is the 11th day of ditching the ash.

I have applied my experiences from the royal marine training course to help me quit.

It's not easy and I have a long way to go but I am determined to quit for good.

Hello ex-marine and welcome to quit support.

Congratulations on getting through the first 11 days as these are some of the toughest days.

Your marine training will certainly help you being disciplined in your quit.

You are doing very well and I wish you all the very best on your quit journey

Have a read of some of the info under the topic headings on the right hand side of the screen as this will increase you knowledge on what yo expect as your body recovers :) :)

Good on you. Its the enemy.

Are you using any nicotine replacement therapy?

First month was worst, now im down to 2mg gum. Started on 25 mg patch and 4mg.

This is so wirth it. I decided that as Im in my 40s I do not want to be storing up health problems for the future, all for the sake of burning a rolled up piece of paper with dried leaves in it for 2 minute buzz that I have to repeat every 1 hour to stop myself feeling agitated.

Keep going. This is so worth it.

Jim

Au ex-marine a big warm welcome to our quit support community :)

A great big well done to you for reaching the 11th day of your quit :) and as you and Glolin have said, your training will help you along the way :) Try to keep focused on WHY you want to quit and keep telling yourself ''NOPE'', Not One Puff Ever :) cos thats all it takes to get you back smoking again :o

I will go and sort a Winners badge out for you, if you have any questions or just need a bit of help, then please just shout out and we will do our best to help you :)

Good luck and see's ya soon.

Pete :)

As an ex RN submariner I feel I can say well done Bootneck you should have no problem with your background but I agree its a long road I am please to say I traveled it and its great once you get there, just like a run ashore but without the fags which gives you more pennies in the pocket. Cheers matey Fred :)

Thats some question EmJay about 20 years ago when my granddaughter said to me she did not want me to die and when I said I was not going to, she said yes you will as you smoke,so that was the kick I needed. Hannah is now 26 years and its a non smoking family. One thing though I have lung cancer now. :)

The important thing is to stay positive and remember our NOPE rule and you'll be fine :-)

NOPE:

Stay strong and remember "If it's to be, it's up to me!"
