This is my 4th day without a smoke . My coughing has been reduced but it still exist. May I know for how many days itll be there ?

Hi ya John, a massive well done to you for reaching day 4 of your quit

John, you may be coughing for some days or weeks yet, it just depends on your body and how fast it takes your body to clean itself everybody is different, we all have different times to recuperate so please just give it time eh, cos you are only on day 4 !

I myself am lucky, cos I have had a few attempts at quitting and I get rid of the cough within 3 days whether its cos I exercise quite a bit on my rower, sooooo I force my lungs to clear themselves out sooner, I just dont know But it works for me

John, please, please be patient with yourself and your body eh

As has already been said we are all different.... I smoked for over 35 years and have never had a cough but I suffered with really sensitive teeth for at least 3 months of my quit, others have had trouble sleeping, some sleep all the time, headaches, flu or cold symptoms, chest infections, dry mouth, sore throats, bad skin..... the list is endless But all these symptoms out way the benefits of being a NON SMOKER

Your doing really well being on day 4 and going cold turkey too...... If you have any doubts about how your feeling then book an appointment to see your GP

There are a number of people on here who have quit cold turkey and I am sure they can give you the benefit of their experience

Please stick with it your doing really well

hello lovely monky..... well I was a bit stir crazy so I went out today for a walk.... not the best idea I have ever had and ended back in bed and slept for 4 hours.... my neighbours were none too happy with me and told me off

Now watching an old james bond whilst catching up

I've been pottering about and drawing up some plans for a summer house at the top of my garden
