Well it's 26 weeks today. Finally I have got to 6 months. Thanks to everyone for your encouragement.
And last week I walked (limped) 2 miles. Doctor said it would be 2 years to do that, not 4 months. Progress all round.

HI surrendertowin
CONGRATULATIONS - that is a fantastic achievement on 2 levels - the quit and the 2 mile walk - well done you. You must be so happy but how are you feeling now 6 months down the line from stopping smoking for good? I know you've had some health issues and to me your health is the most important reason to stop, do you feel better in yourself now? Have you noticed any other changes that your weren't expecting?
I am so pleased for you that you have got this far and so quickly - that is so inspiring to someone who is also suffering health issues to know that it does get better with time!
Take care and well done again xx
Fantastic news , You must be so pleased and proud of yourself.
EMJAY, A 6 MONTH BADGE NEEDED PLEASE and please make it a new one eh not one of them second hand ones ok
Aup Ray, its great to see you again pal, and I aint bothered about your quitting the smokes pal, cos I know you've beet it see BUT, to walk-limp 2 flippin miles, is just ace pal, it really is
You hold your head up high, cos your one hell of a MAN, and I really mean that I admire you for your courage and stamina I do take my hat off to you pal
You take care now Ray, but please dont get toooooo ambitious eh
Thank you for the replys. I feel much better not using cigs anymore. I'm still vaping but have cut down on the mgs. I hardly use my ventolin inhaler now and I only take 1mucodine capsule a day instead of 6. I have passed through the needy low depression phase now and I'm not over eating. I have colour in my cheeks,(face lol) and my hands are pinkish now. I have been told that I've lost that grey look. I'm not coughing up coal anymore and my breathing at night is not like bagpipes playing. There are many more benefits for which I have a list to remind myself should Mr Amber leaf knock on the door.
I have resigned myself to the possibility that it may take 1 year or so to get mobile enough to don my rucksack. Saying that I managed a 2.5 mile walk tonight bordering the moorland where I live. My leg is still sore but better than before.I don't go on my own if its over .5 of a mile and take my mobile with me. It's so good to get into the fields and see the wildlife, chat to the farmers and locals and be out in the fresh air. Thank you ~Ray.
Well done !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is a fantastic achievement !!!!!!!!!! I think, once you make such a fantastic step like this, it just encourages you to continue. Looking forward to reading future posts.
You have come ever so far Ray and we hope you are as proud of yourself as we are.
