When can you get your smoking status changed at the doctors and for insurance and stuff (in the UK)?

My status at doctors has been changed to ex smoker on my records, not sure about the insurance but like Al says it would be really interesting to find out I bet it's about a year and you can only say ex smoker

Thanks Tiantian. I've been planning on coming off NRT this week, so that means I can claim the status of a non smoker!

My docs changed my status to non smoker as soon as I got my 2nd NRT script from the nurse and my Carbon Monoxide levels were measured at 2ppm.Ellie,please be careful about coming off the NRT too soon,give yourself time to adjust to being cig free.4 weeks is very quick.Hugs H
