All I could think about was not being around for my kids. THAT got me through.

Hey Pauline, a huge welcome to Quit Support and bestest of wishes for the New Year :-)

It would be really useful to us if you could tell us a little bit more about your past quit attempts and we can probably help make this time round a bit more easier for you :-)

When you have stopped in the past, how long did you last? Did you use any form of help last time? How about this time round, are you using any NRT (nicotine replacement therapy), Champix, Zyban or an e-cig?

Most successes come from those who plan and prepare throughout their stopping smoking journey, this is something that we can help you with :-)

You have most definitely made the right decision as stopping smoking is the best thing that you can do for your health.

Nobody says that it is easy, but most people say it is worth it :-)

Please don't worry, you are not alone on this journey :-)

Hey Pauline :)

So stick with us hun and we will give you every support and also drag you in to some ridiculous conversations that are nothing to do with smoking but do take your mind off the dreaded weed for a while :)

Pauline its always hard to give up old habits. Its a no brainer when you add up the benefits. I will be quit almost 3 years and the only regret is that I didnt do it sooner. People say " yeah but I like smoking" but put a few posionous chemicals in a bottle and ask them to take that. I dont think the answer will be the same. I know I used to think people were dictating to me , which made me smoke all the more. But thank goodness I saw sense at last. Please Pauline stay strong. :) xxx

welcome Pauline,

Like Droopy said, these wonderful members is what has got me through the past 6 months. Just knowing that "they" understood when I had a crappy day and struggled. Yes!! we do the quit ourselves, but the journey is so much easier with a quit family who is there to support you along the way :) :)

All the very best of luck in your quit journey :) :)

Hi Pauline

Hoping its getting easier for you, and knowing it will too. It takes its time and is different for everyone, but everyone on here has bad days sometimes. I certainly did, and these wonderful quit friends helped me through :)

The amazing thing about this site is the way we are all so supported, through the good and bad days. Its one day at a time, and every single hour or day of staying quit is a massive achievement after lives with smoking. Whatever else is going on you've got to be proud, and remember to be very very proud! of managing not to have another fag.

Stick with it, stay strong, divert and spoil and congratulate yourself. You are doing great getting this far :) . You CAN do it. And one thing I've learned over previous quit tries is that carrying on smoking is no cure and doesn't make you feel better. Hope you've got whatever helps to help you through - maybe nrt, ecig, gum :o :)

Wishing massive power to you and your quit, Pauline. Sending you very best and warmest wishes x

Hiya Pauline and welcome to quit support :)

Yes i agree with you that's it's hard but it would be a whole lot harder without the support of all these guys on here :(

The reason we're so cheery is to get us through this journey coz at times when you feel down and come on here, you'll definitely feel so much better and end up smiling :)

Good luck for your quit and come on here for help as we are happy to help :) :) x
