BAD sore throat with Flu

Hi all... I'm a GCA patient for 2.5 years and am down to 2 mg prednisone daily. My son was recently prescribed 40 mg pred for 5 days for his chronic sore throat and it worked wonders immediately. I'm wondering if I can/should do the same for my own sore throat due to Flu Type A. It's awful!

That’s a hefty dose so if it were me I’d only do it with medical agreement and if it was fairly certain there was no secondary bacterial infection if it’s without antibiotic cover.
