Sore throat and husky voice: I have been on... - PMRGCAuk
Sore throat and husky voice

I think it is a Prednisalone side effect. I have those symptoms accompanied by thirst I am prone to choking,, even on my own spit and swallowing tablets is hard.. My throat isn't very sore but I can't even sing children's' simple songs and I sound like a cross between Marlon Brando in the Godfather and Lauren Bacall, Mention it to the doc though, other things can emerge during PMR and GCA.

It can also be part of PMR - I had it for 5 years of PMR without being on pred. If you have something between PMR and GCA and arteries in the chest and neck area are affected it can lead to this. I was started on 15mg pred but it took a couple of years before it improved significantly. I often wondered if a higher dose to start with might have helped more.
Thank you for info....It really helps
I have a sore throat off and on. More often, I totally lose my voice. I have GCA and PMR. I had not really thought about these symptoms being related.
Me too. I am constantly clearing my throat and put it down to the raucous singing I do in a band! But I think it is PMR as it is a fairly recent thing. Annoying for me and other people!
