Chronic pain after PID - anyone with experience?

Hi I was treated for PID but the pain got worse again after treatment. No STI, all swabs came back negative. Was seen by the gynaecologist in A&E and they said the infection is gone as I have normal blood tests and ultrasound scan.

I’m now having constant pain whereas 3 weeks ago it was just on/off mild pain and I wasn’t needing any painkillers. Now it’s really impacting my work and life and I need painkillers constantly just to function.

Does anyone have experience with chronic pain after PID? Is there any light at the end of the tunnel? I feel so hopeless at the moment as it has gotten worse and not better. The GP has referred me to gynae clinic but I’m not sure how long that will take or if they’ll do anything further.

I've had reoccurring pelvic pain on and off for a year. Have been treated with antibiotics drips and oral. Have had repeat CT scans which show abcess has built up in fallopian tube area. Maybe ask for a CT scan as I've heard other tests don't always pick up abcesses? Hope you get to the bottom of it soon. Ring the gynaecology clinic directly if you don't hear about appointment to find out roughly what waiting times are like.

I agree ask for a ultrasound from a consultant radiologist as they picked up my abcess after PID.
