Hi I'm 34 and have had 4 quite sever episodes of Pid over the last 4 years. I have a continous low heavy ache in the center just above my vagina witch radiates around where my nickerline goes. I get cramping on and off. I've just finished 4 weeks of antibiotics and the pain had gone but I've had sex once since finishing them 6 days ago and now the pain is back. It's getting me down and I can't see any light at the end of the tunnel. Does anyone else keep getting reaccuring pid like this?

Pelvis hurts even after 3 courses of antibiotics for Pid
Hi! Can I ask you which antibiotics did you take exactly and for how long each? Did or do you have any vaginal symptoms like itching or burning? How did they diagnose you with pid?
I took 14 days of doxycycline and 10 days metronidazole then another 14 days doxycycline and 9 days Azithromycin plus weekly fluconazole. Diagnosed with pelvic pain and previous history of pid and internal exam. No vaginal symptoms
Sorry for asking these questions, but I am in the same situation. When you took the 14 days of doxycycline and 10 days metronidazole first did you notice improvement? Did they check the usual std swabs? Did they take blood test at first when it started? Did you have elevated inflamatory markers? I took 14 days doxy+14 days metronidazole, but did not notice any improvement at all. It started last july, but I do not have diagnosis, because every test, blood tests, swabs were negative. But I have vaginal itchiness and occasional burning, but I had many swabs and all of them negative.
You may have pelvic floor dysfunction from it in which case you may need to go see a pelvic floor physical therapist who who are usually in physical therapist offices you have to call and ask...you may also need muscle relaxants to calm everything down because it sounds like your muscles are spasming there.. heaviness is usually spasming muscle
I thought PID was an inflammatory condition due to infection, so would assume a the medics were able to identify the pathogen, either by blood test or biopsy, and also to test the clearance of the pathogen. If there is no diagnosis, then I would certainly consider other causes, including Interstitial Cystitis, or Pudendal Neuralgia (PN), both of which share symptoms, but are also different. For instance Dietary changes have little impact on reducing the pain due to PN, and bladder pain can be a symptom of both IC and PN. I'm suspicious of the term Pelvic Dysfunction, having experienced pelvic pain for 15 years, and having been given the wrong diagnosis (IC), so that I am now awaiting a new one, but have to pressurise the Urology Consultant to refer me to a pain specialist to get a diagnosis. I am all too aware that 'catch-all' diagnoses can be given because some professionals are too lazy to take the time to undertake a variety of tests. However, this does not, in any way, discredit the skills of a specialist physio.
Hi, not much advice but I had a question. I was diagnosed with PID a few days ago and they advised me it would not reoccur following the antibiotics unless it was from another partner. Did your sexual partners from the past 6 months get treated? Did you have the injection of antibiotics? Do you have protected sex? (Personal but, That's all they asked for me really). I'm now concerned that this may not be over following the antibiotics like they said :/
If I where you I would push for a further diagnosis, may need laparoscopy to find out why ect and could also be misdiagnosed. Please keep pushing and do not be ignored!
Not sure if this will help anyone but I had PID around 18 months ago where antibiotics didn’t help, and all tests came back clear. Turned out to have been my IUD... a family planning nurse helped me suss it out after weeks of agony, the IUD got stuck in my cervix and my GP never picked it up. It caused a polyp which also had to be removed.
