hi, has anybody noticed their pelvic pain gets worse on a monthly cycle? I don’t have periods anymore, but have noticed the pain seems to gets really bad on exactly the same date a month later!!! Wondered if anyone else has experienced this?

I don't have it every month, but, 5 years after my last period, I had two months last year when I felt like I was having it again (I'm 61). Bloating, water retention, sleepiness, and pelvic pain -- but no blood flow (although a little bit of discharge), and it lasted 5 days. The GP doesn't understand it, and I'm on a waiting list to see a gynaecologist, but I can't find anything like this online.
I've noticed that my pelvic pain flares up two weeks before period starts around ovulation time. Have started to track cycle and pain to see if there's a link
Just wondering? Do you have a history of endometriosis?
I had a laparoscopy at age 61 and eight years after my menopause the surgeon found endo all over my right ureter and elsewhere. It IS rare but it happens.
Not sure about the cyclical pain……it may prostaglandin related. I’d ask your doctor and see a gynaecologist. Keep us posted.
Hi, thanks for replying, I have history of endometriosis. The gp didn’t think it was related to a cycle when I spoke to her. Neither did she know about any surgery. I’ve now been referred to a pain clinic and to the TIMS physio team. The Duluxetine isn’t working so they’ve given me Nortriptyline aswell with 30mg codine!!!!
Sorry no history of endometriosis
Good luck. I hope they figure it out. A laparoscopy ( which is minimally invasive ) may be warranted to really see what’s going on inside your pelvis. How much Nortriptyline are you taking? It’s effective for nerve pain.
30 mg codeine almost killed me. I am highly allergic to it. I’d start taking a smaller dose of it if you’re concerned. Good luck at the pain clinic.
