Hi I had hysterectomy fallopian tubes and cervix removed vaginally also sacrospinous ligament fixation done and posterior repair in September 22 then a Anterior repair done 8th December 22

I have been through every test possible

My Surgeon thinks that the 2 permanent stitches used for sacrospinous ligament fixation done is causing my pain.

He wants to perform

Surgical management of pudendal nerve entrapment which is releasing stitches.

Anybody Suffer Nerve entrapment

Hi SammyI'm not sure if its can help in anyway but yes I have Pudendal Nueralgia and currently on a long waiting list to have nerve ablasion with a nerve block at the same time. Shooting pains up my vagina, bum and abs and public bone. Sounds like your sacrospinious ligament in probably pushing on the pudendal nerve. Its such a hard condition to solve in that all the treatments available offer around a 50/50 chance of success but in your case I'm hoping the surgeon can just go in a address these stitches and hopefully that'll release the nerve. For pudendal neuralgia the usual route seems to be nerve blocks, then nerve ablasion and if that doesn't work the last resort is nerve decompression, this seems to be done in Nantes France or the guy who does it there is the main specialist for this condition/operation. The "Nantes criteria" is the one most medical people will look at to diagnose PNE. The only advice I can give is avoid sitting at all costs, get a cushion with a hole in the middle for if you really have to sit. They do a good one on amazon called a feagar for about Β£37, I've tried the lot and it's the only one that's been any good for me. Be careful of kegel exercises they can make it worse. There's a great book called Headache in the Pelvis i'd recommend as there's diagrams of exercises and pressure points you can try. There's internal trigger point therapy some people try with a pelvic physiotherapist too or a magic wand and pelvic relaxation techniques, there's a few people on you tube with videos on that. I really hope that you get this fixed ASAP and the surgery goes well. All the best to you and God bless you on your recovery. Reach out if you need a chat. Jodie x x x

Hi SammyI really hope your surgery goes well and I'll be praying for you for sure.

It sounds like we have similar problems with the same area of muscles/ligaments.

I've had this going on 2 and a half years now and my goodness I never realised how painful nerves could be. I can't sit or drive at all now, Ive had to stop work and I can only stand for about 5 mins at a time before I'm in agony and have to lay down.

If you can say a prayer for me too I'd really appreciate it, thank goodness I like reading otherwise have lost my marbles about 2 years ago!:)

Wishing you a successful surgery and a quick recovery, I'll be sending you good vibes.

Stay strong and you'll get through this.

God bless

the best cushion is from cushionyourassets.com. It was designed by a woman whose partner has PN. It’s the only one ( for me) that keeps your perineal area off the hard surface. It’s a bit more expensive than most other cushions but,in my opinion, well worth it.
