Hi, I am 50 and have had stress incontinence for the past 15 years. I also have a prolapse. I’m just trying to find out which is the best operation for stress incontinence and if it has worked for you. Grateful for any input at all l. Thank you! 😊

Hi I’ve just had bladder prolapse surgery and it wasn’t done with mesh just with stitches, 6 weeks in all seems much better. I was so nervous about having the op, it was op number 8 but others due to endometriosis such as hysterectomy and excision. Was good recovery so don’t be scared like I was, I was a nervous wreck when there was no need x

Thank you for that, it's reassuring. Can you tell me the specific name of the surgery you had? Also, had the prolapse caused you to have some kind of incontinence too?

it was an anterior repair and I did have a little dribble after peeing when I stood up. X

Hi. I’m 66 and I have a neurogenic bladder due to nerve damage and a nerve that enervates the bladder.

I don’t have prolapse so I can’t make a statement.

My neurologist in Minnesota told me to avoid drinking any beverage with bubbles. Try avoiding tonic water, champagne, sodas and colas. The carbon dioxide irritates the bladder lining. Just thought I’d share that with you.

Yes, I’ve had bladder issues for a number of years, I don’t drink carbonated drinks, tea or coffee or even acidic juices. But I still have the problem.

Try eating more cranberries and broccoli. The sulphide in these foods can calm the bladder. Keep me posted.
