Fibroid Enquiry

I was diagnosed with fibroids last year, 2 large ones according to my doctor. The rate at which I visit the restroom has been alarming recently and my back pain is getting worse with each passing day. At night when I’m asleep I can feel a lump on my lower stomach that is very hard. I even feel pain all the way to my private’s with my pee and all and it’s really starting to disturb me. Is this normal or should I be worried?

Apparently you can feel them if they are large so if they are giving you alot of discomfort I would go back to your GP. I had a procedure to shrink mine last year. Best decision I made. Mine are now gone. No more heavy bleeding and pain.

Hi Re_ed,I also have a 9cm intermural fibroid which you can see when I'm lying down and have the same issues as yours.

I'm waiting open Myomectomy surgery to remove it as its causing me so much pain & discomfort.

Have you had an ultrasound scan? I would definitely go back to the doctor's and insist on a gynae referral as left untreated they may get bigger and cause more issues.

xx

I had an ultrasound last year and haven’t gotten any this year. But I’m scheduled for a pelvis exam next week

This is a normal side effect to large Fibroids and usually nothing to worry about at all. However if this is affecting your life and you are in pain then ask your doctor for an ultra sound, as this is not something that you should have to put up with. There are various treatments and procedures available that can help alleviate this problem. The sooner you pop to the Doctor the better to prevent it growing any bigger.

Hi, my fibroid was making me go to toilet 1-2 times at night. It is growing outside my uterus so it can't be removed by hysteroscopy - surgical removal would mean laparoscopy, which I'm not keen on.

I started caster oil pack and taking a larger dose of vitamin D3 daily mid-December. In my latest ultrasound scan in January, they found that the fibroid had shrunk by 1cm in diameter (0.5cm every month) and I'm now sleeping through most of the nights! You're supposed to take a break from caster oil pack between ovulation and the following period, so I've only done three cycles.

There are videos on YouTube about the benefit of caster oil compress and how vitamin D deficiency is linked to fibroid growth - as far as I remember there was a video of a doctor talking about how they treat fibroid with Vitamin D. Happy to send you links via PM, not sure we're allowed to share external links publicly.

As we're all Vitamin D deficient to some extent and it supports your immune system, I don't think there is any harm in having a go at it - and caster oil pack is really relaxing before bedtime.

But if yours are bothering you, I'd go to back to your GP for further investigation and treatments.
