Hi everyone,

I’m looking for any recommendations for a chronic pelvic pain specialist in the uk for females with undiagnosed daily chronic pelvic pain, back pain, pain with and after sex, bowel and bladder pain, seems to be worse around my cycle, in the mornings, towards the evening and if I either sit around too much or walk around/ lift (my little people) too much.

It started with a sharp stabbing pain in my left Fallopian tube area ( now daily), chronic lower back pain. I now have soooooo many different symptoms bowel, bladder, pain with/ after sexy.

I’ve had a hysteroscopy, colonoscopy, mri, ct, ultrasound and a recent diagnostic laparoscopy ( only finding a thickened peritoneum on/ around my utero-vesical fold) but no one can still tell me a diagnosis.

My GP believes me so this makes me feel a little better and he wants to refer me to a chronic pelvic pain specialist and wanted me to see if I could find any recommendations from anyone that has been in a similar situation, literally any advice at this point is appreciated I simply can not live like this anymore.

"But no one can still tell me a diagnosis "

Unfortunately often there isn't a diagnosis, as a Consultant recently said to me " in medicine we can tell you what it isn't but often not what it is".

I've had pelvic pain for many years, had all the tests numerous times and seen many Gynae consultants but they just don't know what the cause is. My current Gynae is has agreed to take everything out but it may not cure the problem.

I wish you luck in your search and sadly it may be a long one.

Hi you could try one of the endo clinics they are around ten I think in the UK. They also look at chronic pelvic pain. I read a book 7 steps to control chronic pain by deepak he is a pain specialist in UK it helped me understand the pain and things I could do to help it. I wish you all the best and hope you get some relief.

I do not have same problem as you but think you should see a Gynae called Ann Jackson at BMI the Kings Oak Private hospital in Enfield , it’s Private. Check out her profile first not sure yours is her speciality

A chronic pain specialist will help you accommodate yourself to the pain, find ways to live with it. Essentially, it is gynaecologists washing their hands of you as regards discovering the cause of your condition. If you're happy with that, then it's fine (I wasn't). You will find it difficult to get back to proper gynaecological help. Have they ruled out endometriosis?

Have you had any blood tests for inflammation such as Erythrocyte Sedimentation rate, RA, C-Reactive protein, blood sugar or cortisol levels measured?

So no imaging found any cyst or fibroids? Has any doctor sent a vaginal swab for culture?

What about an X-ray? Have you had any prior surgeries where they put metal clips or mesh inside you? These foreign bodies can cause terrible pain and damage when they disintegrate/ migrate which they do frequently. Doctors cover this up.

You don’t mention burning electrocuting pain so I’m not certain if this pain is nerve related. Good luck. Don’t give up.

Try doing some research into pelvic congestion syndrome. With GP on your side, perhaps together you could look into this possibility
