Fibroids

Hello, I was diagnosed with fibroids a year ago, I when I think about my symptoms, I think I must had, had longer than that. I am 46 and it seems I am going through the menapuase too.

I have a lot of pain with them, mainly on one side, my periods tend to be very heavy, and can last for 2 weeks at a time, then I will have a week break and it will start all over again.

I am currently waiting for a operation on them, to remove them, but obviously with the state of the world we are in at the moment, I got to wait longer.

I decided to go on the depo injection in hope to slow the flow down in the meantime, as I was getting seriously anaemic, and was taken iron tablets.

But 3 months in after the depo injection, I had bleed heavily for 2 months straight, was was getting anemic again. I feel the only option would to have a Hysterectomy. As anybody gone through any similar symptoms.

I also have fibroids which cause my periods to be very heavy.

This might not be suitable for you but I have been prescribed Tranexamic Acid tablets to take when I am on my period. The tablets reduce the amount I bleed and they work really well for me. Maybe you can ask your doctor about this?
