Hi I have a perrarie fitted at present. Its my 3rd in 5months. Fitted 3weeks ago

I have been recommended to use a doughnut memory foam cushion. Can anyone recommend one.

I am staying with this pessarie as each time I have had 10 days of discomfort decided to give this one a bit longer to settle in. It was checked yesterday and is fitted properly.

I had mine fitted aug 8 aug went back on 17 after loads discomfort and told it was correct fitting too.too nervous to go anywhere!i did a lot of reading and realised I was so tense and not breathing right like holding my breath as if that would keep it in!all the symptoms urge to go wee constipation etc were as a result of tight pelvis.that clicked as uncomfortable all morning but by night felt fine which is when I was relaxing.💡!so I’ve been doing breathing exercises massage tips before I get out of bed ,also sleep with a pillow between my knees .to help me go I eat huge amounts of veg lol.cant get the vagifem tablets in as cant reach down I told her but she said keep trying!!.were u given vagifem or similar. so will hv to see how that goes without them.for me personally it’s knowing that thing is in there and think it’s going to split me.🤔i think the trouble is the hospital whack thousands in a year with basically 5 seconds conversation no information and really should give leaflets on what to expect not just say see you in 4/5 months.so glad not to see that awful bulge though and obviously the ring has altered the route of the passage ways so to speak so my body has to adapt.i think what shocks me first addressed this 20 years ago and still pessary pt and operation for goodness sake.Only did pt then but found it too invasive so stopped.have read about a new treatment instead of creams and tablets called intimalase or something where a probe is inserted and plumps up vaginal wall so will ask about that even if I have to pay private.Onl needs doing every 6 months so could cope with that.I’m trying to be positive but it has really knocked my confidence.61 in a few days and feel past it bah.got to get a grip I know but the funny thing is my neighbours have opened up about the problems When I said why I wasn’t going anywhere.they have them too so it’s given us a giggle about our lady bits.weird how it’s like a secret not to speak about isn’t it.they brought me flowers and a posh candle yesterday to cheer me up as they were so worried as iv only left the house twice since March but iv got my books and garden to sit in,sorry to natter on .let me know hw you get on xxcaroline hope the tips will help

Hi Again,

Thanks for your reply.

Consultant recommends doughnut cushion.

My doughnut came today. It has made sitting easier.

Due back in January, I am lucky to be able to email her secretary and see her within a couple of days, very reassuring. All on the N.H.S.

Interesting about new treatment. Whats it called intimalase ? Is it available in UK?

I must admit sitting isn't my favourite occupation at present.

Morning.i hate sitting in fact I sort of lay over on one side.!i know I need to relax more as when I use the toilet I notice I’m tensing ,just scared it’s going to shoot out!morning I’m tensing evening relaxed and don’t notice it so I know I’ve got to get in tune and listen to my body.think they are trialing intimilase in nhs hospital but quite honestly I would pay considering how I feel.Just want to go walking kneel down and do my gardening.it is frustrating isn’t when you tell them it’s not right and they say the fitting is right.wonder if they have ever had one!!but I’m going to prrsevere.might get a cushion my husband had one when he had motor neurone disease, sadly passed 7 years ago when he was 50.i get cross with myself as iv dealt with a lot but this darned prolapse has stopped me dead n my tracks.have you been given the vagifem tablets to pop in or not to use x

Have you had your fitting yet.hope you got on okay.mine was today after being cancelled in dec due to consultant getting Covid.must admit I gripped the bed which didn’t particularly help when it came out but at least she was quick.polyp noticed on my cervix so she took a sample to send off for biopsy.Went in a bit easier but a bit tender down there now darn it.one thing after another!🥴x
