incontinent after pessary fitted

morning, That is not very good. Can I suggest you contact your gynaecologist and get an emergency appoinrment
Morning no it isn’t! Every time I move it’s like a waterfall! I saw a gynae yesterday been waiting for an appointment for over a year ( England) so went private he put the pessary in and I immediately peed all over his floor! lol he said it was normal! I am having to wear nappy like pads to cope with it but I did read that sometimes it takes a while to settle down so will have to see if it does it’s very unpleasant though! Thank you for answering x
Hello there,I have a bladder prolapse too.I'm not sure what stage.I had a ring pessary fitted by GP but my incontinence was worse,I took that out myself after a couple of days. The prolapse felt great, but not the incontinence was worse .I went back and she fitted one a bit bigger and that was like yourself, dribbling out all the time when I moved and pouring out if I moved a certain way.I also took that out.The GP said obvious pessaries didn't suit me.She referred me to gynaecology urology and after a wait they also fitted a pessary, same thing happened. The nurse said that if a ring pessary doesn't work for incontinence, none will work as it is the most gentle one.I have been started on tablets for urge incontinence. I took one type and now they've started me on a mixture of 2.I do seem to be holding alot more in my baldder, and they said to do pelvic floor exercises. I am on the waiting list for a hysterectomy and bladder repair, but that can take around a year. Its the incontinence that's the worst for me.If pessary would have worked it would have been great.
hi thanks for you reply I was surprised so many women have this problem! I went privately for consultation because the waiting list is ridiculous I have a friend who waited 5 years for her op! The pessary are hit and miss if you ask me! My own doctor tried 4 different ones without success they just fell out there and then the private doctor put this huge black thing in and the pain in my stomach and my pelvis was awful if was pressing on something up there lol I had to pay £220 to see him and £89 for the pessary which fell out a few hours later! I don’t think they suit everyone and certainly not when you get to stage 4 he said my bladder has prolapsed my bowel is right behind it and my vaginal walls have turned inside out! Plus I have a big cyst on my bladder which could be cancerous! I haven’t been offered pills but incontinance is not the problem with me I can’t pee! I had hysterectomy at 43 im now 66 he said that has caused my problems! It is a shame the pessary didn’t work for you but hopefully the pills will give you some relief. Who’d be a woman!
Hi I had a Pessary fitted also last week for a prolapsed womb and now I find it difficult to hold my wee which I didn’t have before I’m wondering if it’s the normal
Hi
Hope you are ok I couldn’t control my bladder at all with pessary in it was just pouring like a waterfall whenever I moved! Mine fell out 5 different ones and they all did the same thing
I’m not sure if it’s normal to be incontinent with one in but I can’t cope with it so I’m opting for surgery but mine is bladder prolapse and my vagina has turned inside out 😳 I had hysterectomy at 43 and ever since I have had a problem. You should ask the doctor if it’s in properly or if it’s normal for it to do that x
