Uterus prolapse
Hi
I'm in the same boat with a rectocele prolapse.
I've been told pelvic floor exercises and 2 litres of water.
It's not fear that we have months to find out our issues.
Good luck to us.
From what information is out there I understand that people with existing health conditions are being informed they should still attend hospital for treatments and health care.
However in my case I normally receive bladder and pelvic injections which were due in march, received a letter from hospital saying treatment postponed. My pain has increased and Dysfunctional Bowel and bladder conditions are now severely compromised.
Understandidly there are a lot of people in the same situation some with serious illnesses eg, cancelled cancer care and heart treatments.
Yes the NHS is going through unprecedented turmoil and we are all supporting them, but there are a lot of us in limbo getting mixed messages about how we should still attend hospital for treatments, in reality operations have been cancelled, clinics closed, and treatments postponed.
My GP is only offering phone consultations which I can understand, they are self isolating as well.
I am trying to find new ways of self treatment but there is only so much I can do by myself.
Sorry I don't have advice for your situation. You could contact your GP/hospital for advice. Wish you good health in these difficult times.
Hi, it's kind of disturbing when it's not possible to see a medical professional. The symptoms and discomfort immediately feel worse! Please don't worry. Prolapses are very common. I know that's not much comfort when you feel as if your insides are trying to come outside and get some fresh air! I found these Pilates exercises helpful - never done pelvic floor Pilates exercises before. Jessica Valiant Pilates: My Prolapse Story; and prolapse exercises, safe work out for prolapse and; Pelvic Floor Exercises, physical therapy for pelvic floor muscles and; How to do a Kegal and Pelvic Floor Exercises. I found her to be inspirational.
Hi, I have a prolapsed uterus too. Had since birth of son 2 years ago. I’ve seen dr and have a cube pessary which I use to support helps quite a bit with heavy feeling. Also used ring pessary which also good But not as much support as cube. While you are. Waiting to see dr you could use a lubricated tampon. My physio reconvened this to me before I found Correct pessary.good luck
Hi, I was diagnosed with a rectocele. My GP sort of diagnosed it over the phone but felt uncomfortable he felt that he hadn't been able to definately secure the right diagnoses. I was referred to a female GP at the practice and she examined me and confirmed it was a bowel prolapse. Because I have lower abdominal pain as well as intermittent bleeding she referred me under the 6 week urgent case to have a scan which I am having at 2pm today. I woyuld strongly recommend that you go back to your \GP. Mine was amazing, and I had several telephone calls with him just for ressurance more than anything. Drs and hospitals are still available to us and they will wear protective clothing, tell your Dr this as what you are going through emotioanally is unacceptable. I wish you luck sweetheart.
If you have private health insurance. I took out Bennanden in 4/19. It should get you a quick referral and pay for ongoing treatment. Then when things are sorted you often need regular visits back to consultant. You can then change back to NHS.
When you sign up they do not ask for details of pre existing conditions. Cost about £12 a month. Once joined its 6 mths before you can claim.
Hope this helps.
I have had the same problem for a couple of years now, and found the Kegal 8 pelvic floor exerciser is a good help. Obviously not a cure but used according to the instructions tightens the pelvic floor, avoiding the problem getting worse. There is a good web site that gives lots of information, and reviews and telephone number. Their customer service is excellent.
One good hint I had from my physio was to make sure that I wasn't constipated: any unnecessary strain in the pelvic area isn't a good idea, so make sure you eat a diet to enable, how shall I put this nicely, stress-free passing of waste Along with pelvic floor exercises, that could help the situation stabilise and not get any worse. Good luck, and I hope you get to see a GP or physio soon
