Hello, has anyone on this site had a neurectomy for a pelvic nerve (ilioinguinal, hypogastric or genitofemoral? And if so, how was the outcome? Ditto with exploratory abdominal surgery for pelvic pain?
Thank you in advance.

What would someone have a neurectomy for I've heard the term but I don't know what it is exactly... is it for entrapped nerves?
I did! Helped soooo much with burning and tingling, which was a very uncomfortable sensation. However, I am no where out of the woods and I still suffer a great deal with pelvic cramping, aches and spasms. But all in all, Im so glad i did it!! The recovery was painless. Maybe cuz i have other pelvic issues I'm working on resolving in regards to my other pains. At least thats one less pain I have to cope with, made a big difference for me.
If you do it please be sure to pick an experienced neurosurgeon one who knows the pelvic. I also recommend an MRN so your dr can hit the correct nerve. I hope this helps you.
Good luck!
Hi, I had double neurectomy when they removed my inguinal hernia mesh that was causing issues. No problems at all... just Numbness on skin surface at operation site.
