Hi

Google is not proving helpful, I have requested info from BMI but I’m being impatient ☺️

Does anyone know how much a hysterectomy costs if going private?

🤔 Thanks

Will depend on how it's done and what you are having removed, Spire charge is from £6K the private hospital I attend charge from £5K but that may not include all the other costs, so you have to wait and see what your hospital package covers.

Thank you.

I’ll try to be more patient. I hadn’t thought of all the variables.

Depends on a lot of variables. Costs broken down, may include type of hysterectomy, anaesthesia, nursing/consultant fees, bed and board, meds, tests like blood, xrays and scans. The list is endless!!

I had major abdominal surgery 2006 with BUPA, my insurance covered all eventualities just as well as I spent 7days in intensive care.

Advice, check your insurance or ask for a breakdown of costs from establishment that will be providing your care. I know my total was eye watering. good luck with your procedure and wish you a speedy recovery.

Hi Bluepeg

I paid just over £6k with Nuffield for a laparoscopic hysterectomy with BSO. Includes all medications to take home and any future complications.

Be careful with Bmi make sure you have a package price if self funding as complications are not covered I ended up in ICU had a blood transfusion extra 5K and further complications not covered

Are you okay now? I hope so.

Why did you need a hysterectomy?

No nothing but problems since rectal pain off the scale

You may have pudendal nerve entrapment. Have you seen a neurologist?

Do you have any metal in you from a previous surgery? It can migrate. Get an X-ray.

Have you been offered fluoroscopy guided nerve blocks? If three don’t help, you may need decompression surgery. No medicine controls the electrocuting rectal pain.

I had pudendal nerve blocks a while ago ruled out PN. No metal or mesh used in my surgery so at a loss

What area are you from? I wouldn’t recommend the Cheadle BMI
