Vagifem caused pelvic pain for me but I put up with it, was on it for years, recently I've seen a new Gynae and she's given me Ospemifene oral tablets instead of Vagifem, they are expensive and I think only prescribed by Consultants but apparently they work very well.

Hi I was prescribed vagifem for a while because of same thing urogenital atrophy and it didn't agree with me at all burning and pain from it... Anyway through a friend I found a website called doctor Helen pensanti and she is the hormone guru....I got a topical cream called ostaderm v....it's bio-identical progesterone and estriol...all natural .I apply it 2 times a week only to the inner labia because I didn't want to put anything in vaginally although you're supposed to put it vaginally it still worked because the cream gets absorbed into the vagina area ( I squeeze out about an inch) and within 2 weeks there was no more pain and dryness and believe me it was bad I had a urinary tract infection from it and I was bleeding vaginally just from the dryness.... I am happy to say 8 years later I've been using it two times a week and I've never had any issues at all.. she also has hydrating cubes to put in vaginally to moisturize while you wait for the ostaderm to build your mucosal tissue back up.You can also find ostaderm v on ebay...oh and it's only $35 and lasts months...hope this helps

Hello again I have just been on a site off Vagifem users O M G all the things I have that I did not connect with using it for the last 2and a half years were experienced by lots of other users too .Hair thinning ,rash ,tingling in legs and feet , worse eyesight, hot flushes so it must get into your blood stream 😟.i have looked up side effects on a medical site yes they are all there .I trusted my consultant as I payed private no I don't have insurance so this was differ cult .I am now going to find a natural alternative and stop taking it . I do use a cream for external dryness

but don't know if this is for atrophy.looks like I have more searching to do 🤔l

You have to remember that as with any forum you only read the stories of a minority who may have had problems, the millions of women who have no issues with it won't be posting any reviews. The amount absorbed is miniscule compared to oral replacement and the side effects you list could be for other reasons including the menopause which is the obvious culprit.

I hope you find something else you are comfortable using.

Hi maryemma I have been on vagifem the tablet form for three years and have no problems with it before that I was on the vagifem cream you inserted and the burning I had with it .was horrendous and it was the same medication, my GP said it could be different applicators I could have been allergic to one don’t know if this helps any.
