Left side abdomen pain

I have been having this pain for around 4 months, my periods have become irregular. The pain is on the lower left side and sometimes feels dull in my left back. Its not a sharp pain just feels dull. I am really worried. I am 46 no children.

Hi there, I’ve had lower left abdominal pain for a long time as well, also frequently in my middle to lower left back. No one can tell me what is causing it either, and I have had multiple tests done and have seen a gynecologist, gastroenterologist, GP, surgeon and urogyne. I’ve leatned a lot about what is NOT wrong, which is good; but still no anwers except I have a swollen inguinal lymph node on my left side. Also learned there are muscles that run from your lower back down to your left abdomen area. You really have to be proactive in searching out the answer because each dr you see will tell you to go to a different one if they can’t find anything. There are several things it could be, even a pulled muscle, so you should just start checking it out. I finally found my pain is related to overgrown fascia, a tissue that doesn’t show up on any tests but is all through your body. It can get twisted up and a pelvic physical therapist can help with massaging it out. Most drs don’t think of this, so if your tests don’t give you answers I’d recommend talking to one. Mine has been a real lifesaver! And A pelvic ultrasound is a good start to your search. Best of luck to you.

Hi Luckee, thank you so much for your reply. It is a good reply thank you. I have had a blood test yesterday and just feel the worst and have a scan booked too. I just feel I have every symptom of the big C and anxiety is at an all time high x

I went through that too. We all want to know what our pain is and when you don’t have answers it can be very unnerving.You’re on the right track getting your blood work and tests done. Try not to worry about it. The Internet can provide all kinds of scary information that may not relate to you at all. Everything I read about having swollen: inguinal lymph nodes said it could be lymphoma so I even saw a surgeon at the suggestion of my gyno. He said since I have no other symptoms he did not even want to biopsy it! Told me to come back in six months for a check up if I still have pain. I needed answers and kept searching. That’s when I found out about pelvic therapy. My therapist has worked wonders for me. She also happens to be experienced with lymph nodes and reassured me. Try not to stress about it and do keep me posted on your results!

Hi Luckee, my 3 blood test all came back normal with no further action, just had scan to go now x

Hi, I am also 46, 3 children.. have recently started left side pelvic pain, My periods have gone very irregular , back hurts as well. doctors are taking soo long, my appointment with consultant is in December , I am also very worried and don’t know what to do and who to ask.

Don't get yourself to worked up. At our age 46, it could be anything, even Perimenoupause. Why so long to see the Doctor? My periods have become very irregular and I am till waiting on a scan.
