Hi, can anyone please share their experiences on this drug Pregbalin.
I have hrt on the go and need a neuralgia pain blocker I was unsuccessful on amnitriptaline (tiredness ) and Gabapentin (like a walking EATING ...eater, zombie that ate 24/7).
I'm in so much pain in my lower back and struggling with my weight and immobility terribly. Sometimes the pain BOOMS and radiates into buttocks and legs.
Thank you in advance.
Helly.

I am taking 50 mg. of Lyrica 3 x daily (150 mg. total daily) and it does help. I am much improved from it, but there are side effects. I feel light headed, as if I had two glasses of wine. Also, you absolutely cannot ever have any alcohol as long as you are on it. I do also sleep a lot on this drug. It does help the pain, and I also take Ibuprophen every 6 hours. I still get pretty bad nerve pain if I sit for any length of time or after lying down to sleep and then getting up. I can function fairly well if I stand up all day long. The drug does help me though and it works better for me than Gabapentin did.
The drowsiness I worry about as I need to be up and getting my chikd out to nursery school starting in September. I could have kicked myself asking for Gabepentin again off my Dr I mixed the drug name up and meant to say Pregabalin.
I now have another stock of "eating pellets" I truly was like a refrigerator on stalks on this medicine.
Low dose Gabepentin did nothing for me.
I would struggle with the no alcohol as love a glass of wine here and there but woukd suffer it to be pain relieved as right now alcohol has been helping me cope on the weekends.
It's so not ideal and so unfair this pain.
I probably need disc surgery and my Dr said to me unless you are crippled he wouldn't take a back operation at all as the chances of further discomfort exist and no promises of feeling relief.
Fortunately it (Pregabalin) has been a life saver for me. Im about 5 months in and yes, there are side effects, again with me its weight gain, occasionally feeling low. Though, I do feel instant pain relief and Ive tried to ween off lately to find my pain too debilitatingly painful to function needing to lie with heat pad in fetal position, I cant be like this with a disabled 4 year old to look after.
I am actually also ok having the odd gin on it too. Im not feeling any real personalality changes om this medicine.
Its definately helping me daily.
I hope you had some joy with other pain relievers.
I still believe heat pad or bath are up there for endometriosis pain. I also use ibuprofen to top up if my pain levels are higher.
