GABA supplements for nerve pain

Morning all , how is everyone’s pain today?

I’m still on 70mg of nortriptyline and waiting for the full effect to kick in and the pain is still there. Someone posted on here that they were struggling with nerve pain , tried gabapentin and other nerve blockers , they didn’t help but GABA supplements did calm everything down.

So my question to everyone is has anyone tried GABA supplements , which ones can they recommend , ( strength , brand name ) which websites and did they interact with any medication they were taking?

Thank you all

Hi! How long have you been taking Nortriptyline? It takes several months before you start noticing an improvement. I started to feel better after a year, but the biggest improvement came with Gabapentin and nerve blocks. If done well, and the diagnosis is correct, they should work. The pain management doctors need to find the right nerve that is causing the pain. It sometimes takes more than one attempt, therefore a diagnosis from a good neurologist is crucial.. I have tried GABA supplement and it stopped the burning pain I used to get in the urethra, but it so expensive! I have used Puronerv Dol capsules from Italy.

So I started on 10mg for 6 months then I started doing some stretches advised by my pelvic specialist and now the pain is 10 times worse I went up to 70mg for the last 2 months, I know everyone is different so I’m going to ride it out for at least 6 months to see if there is any improvement in the pain. My pain is in my pelvic floor , glutes and I have pain on my sit bones if I sit on hard surfaces. I have stopped everything and just waiting for the meds to kick in still.. I have some good days but the last few days have been horrific …someone posted on here that GABA supplements can help , so I am looking for something to take the edge of in the day. The specialist said I can take naproxen but it is pretty strong and gives me a bad belly…

Naproxen didn't do anything for me. I felt worse too after pelvic physio and stretching. The urogynaecology then suggested the botox injections into the pelvic floor muscles (available on the NHS), which softened and relaxed my pelvic floor foe about 6 months. That way, my pelvic health physio was able to work on me and I started to feel the benefits of the physiotherapy. I had 3 injections in total, one every 6 months.

NUTRAHARMONY GABA supplement is my forever love) I can finally sleep and feel energy in the mornings, no like Sleeping Beauty for the whole day 😁 But I can't tell you how these supplement interact with other medications. I don't take them much, only pain killers - didn't notice any side effect. So about this I think you should better ask your doctor..

Hello! What are the other meds that you are taking, only nortriptyline? I would recommend this GABA supplement amazon.com/GABA-Supplements... it is really good for me - but I used it mostly for sleep not for pain. But it also has calming effect so I believe it could help you.
