hi guyz, im new on here. I just had a transvaginal ultrasound today and the sonographer said i have fibroid. Although she didnt tell me what type or how many and it size. Im pretty much in such as i write this. Just waiting for my GP to call me in for full details. In between, I'm in my late 20's, single and doesn't have any kids yet. She told me it isnt a big deal and all, but i dont believe her. Any advice for me, i'd really appreciate it.

Hi! The fibroids may be small, and there is medication that can be tried to reduced the size of the fibroids, which my gynaecologist tried some 30+ years ago, so there may be better things available now. My fibroids were big, did not reduce with meds, so painful that I winced when he touched me, so I had a hysterectomy. It was a big op, but I never wanted kids so was not worried about it. Good luck Blackruby

Hi my name's Carla I have the same problem, however I'm in my 30s. I had a miscarriage which is when they found I had fibroids, I have five all between the sizes of 4-5 cm. For the past two years I've been trying to get something done to remove my fibroids so we can try for a baby as I don't have any children yet. I was placed on esmya tablets at the end of last year, however I had to come of them due to problems found in some women where they effected the liver so they have discontinued them. At the moment I'm not being told where we go from there as they are still big although they did shrink alittle while I was on the tablets. I'm seeing a fertility clinic and I'm going to ask if I could be put on zoladex to help with shrinking them before I get an embolization or any other minor surgery to get rid of them. It's been a very long process and it's still not over yet, I'm probably not even half way to getting this sorted out. My main thing is to get rid of the fibroids so I can have a successful pregnancy, however all the doctors I end up seeing keep telling not to worry. When I first found out about the fibroids while I was having a miscarriage I got told don't worry they are small I could have a good pregnancy with them. I listened to those doctors now they are so big I can feel them though my stomach. Whatever you do don't take any doctor telling you to not worry or leave them, don't wait for them to get so big you can feel them, if you want children get help now while they are small. Ask the doctors at your hospital to put you on any medication to help reduce them. And do slot of research about the treatments that can be offered, cos I only know about certain surgeries and meds from looking it myself, no doctors seem to want to tell you what you should do before they get so big that the only result will end up being a hysterectomy. I hope I haven't scared you I cannot go on my experiences, and my experience hasn't been great for me. I only wished I knew slot more information two years ago, maybe by now I would have a child I so desperately want. Good luck I hope everything goes well for you.
