Hello All,

After intercourse for the first time in years , I developed BV. 11 days after the intercourse I went to the ER where they diagnosed me. I was treated with flagyl and then got a yeast infesction .. great. After I cured the yeast infection.. a few days later I felt tingling in my vagina and strong stomach pains. All the std tests came back clear , so I went to the ER ..and boom.. PID. My cervix looked normal but was tender to touch and painful .. so I was given doxy to take for 2 weeks. I have 11 more days on the meds. Im hoping all goes back to normal , but will my regular discharge ever come back ? No doctor ever discussed aftercare.. other than no sex. HELP ! Will I ever be normal again ?

Thank you so much Julie for your time. This BV and PID has really worn me out and has made me very ..afraid. Afraid of not ever getting back to normal. Did youhave PID ? Any words of wisdom in terms or curing or aftercare ?

Yeah, I had mild PID. I was terrified fearing of complications that it may cause. I was on doxy and metronidazole for 2 weeks. I also had creamy and chunky yellowish discharge and it was a lot. Whenever I pee I have discharge coming out it was so sticky and gross. After finishing my meds it came back to normal but sometimes I still have a creamy discharge but not a lot. I did transvaginal again and the result came normal. Swab is also normal. Is your doctor sure that you don't have STD like Chlamydia? Because that causes PID. Just finish the entire course of your antibiotics better to take probiotics capsules also to maintain the good bacteria in your gut and vagina. Don't stress yourself that much. It will make your symptoms worst. It will come back to normal, don't worry. If your PID was diagnosed early then it will be treated easily.

THANK YOU. Your response means the world to me, I've been very confused and until now.. alone in this situation. I finished my medicine 2 days ago , but I also ended my period today .. ugh.

I was hoping I could see the discharge but I'm sure it will be a while ? I feel better, no more adominal pain... but i have slight vaginal ache and discomfort. Which sucks because I didnt experience this while on the meds.. maybe its the period ? Or my pelvic floor was effected ?

How long until you felt " normal" again ? Did yoy experience vaginal discomfort for a while ? Im experincing twitching too.. hope its the meds weating off.. horrible feeling.
