Hi I'm new to this site, I am waiting to see The London consultant, has anyone had a positive outcome re nerve blocks?

I have PN following surgery for a fissure, and am coming to terms with the reality of this very painful condition.

I have been referred to The National Hospital in London, but in reading info here have reservations about the different procedures, as the percent ages of success seem very low. I am due to start physiotherapy, which i understand may help, but there seems to be lots of differing opinions With health professionals.

Hello helendonn, I was previously treated at the NHNN in Queen Square. It is a top hospital for neuropathic pain, but a lot depends upon who you see there. I think it is worth you going through the process...but PN is a hideously complex condition and for many people, including myself, it is more about managing it than finding salvation. Good luck.

I just had a pudendal nerve injection this past Monday. I've had no relief from it. I have tight Levator ani muscles and a tight obturator internus muscle. It looks like Botox is next for me. All of my pain/burning/neuralgia is on my left side. I also have a pain in my upper left buttock that no one can explain. Been taking amitriptyline for a year now. Plus I'm using a suppository that has an anti inflammatory, muscle relaxer, anti spasmatic and nerve medication. Also, a percocet now and then. My whole problem started after straining my back, playing a game with friends. It burns when I sit. Now it feels like my perenium/vulva/rectum should be bleeding. This sucks so bad!!! Just to be able to sit again with no pain would be wonderful. I hope your injection brings you relief.
