For months on end I have been getting lower left pelvic pain in the left side area, top of left leg in the left side of the bladder. It's burning and if pressed can feel achy and make burning pain worse. Also it's accompanied by upper left burning pain next to to the stomach underneath the rib cage. It makes it very hard to find out what it could be. It's occasionally painful in the left side when passing stools, i have suffered with constipation since I was a little girl but I can tell the difference between types of pain and when I do go doesn't make pain any better. I'm on the pill for possibilities of endometriosis, I have been tested for celiac disease and bloods came back negative along with ultrasound scan which come back with 2 blood filled cysts on the right ovary which are causing me no bother. Pain is worse more off when sitting down. I also have the burning pain on the left side next to the belly button across and also back pain. Cause too and bottom be one problem? Or could I have 2 different problems. No infections in the urine but burning pain left side of bladder. As far as up left side of the stomach under the ribs burning. When I drink I can actually feel the liquid going down me on to the pain in the left side.
Please help.

Hi, I can understand your worry and anxiety. At least you have a colonoscopy soon which will hopefully find what ever is causing the problem. If not your doctor will be able to suggest another diagnostic test. I hope you get sorted out soon. Good Luck.
Thank you, well doctor referred me to Gastro which I'm seeing in a week, and referred me for colonoscopy so there wasn't another long waiting process.. I also get the burning pain in my lower left back if abdomen is pressed makes burning worse or can feel achy
Could be possible endometriosis but burning pain usually is nerves. Ilioinguinal iliohypogastric and genitofemoral nerves maybe get a nerve block to see if pain is reduced
The nerves run under the rib cage I believe. I just had a triple nerve neurectomy on the ilioinguinal iliohypogastric and genitofemoral nerves. Google Dr Lee Dellon and read his chapters on his website for pelvic and groin pain
I noticed the difference immediately after surgery. The surgery was Oct 27 th. I have very little surgical pain now and the nerve pain is gone. I do get some weird random sensations but my dr said it takes 6 months. I have to do physical therapy and water therapy. The water walking sends signals to your brain from the water on your tummy that everything is ok with the nerves. Takes 6 months for them to regenerate. I couldn't be happier. Dr Shar Hashemi did my surgery with the nerve bone and joint institute. He learned from Dr Lee Dellon. Google Dr Lee Dellon his website is a wealth of information. God bless
So glad your neurectomy was successful. I am so wary of more surgery even though I have been diagnosed as having a trapped/damaged genitofemoral nerve. I am trying Amy Steins self heal exercises to see if they help.
Will certainly look at what Dr Lee Dellon has written.
I agree, I waited 2.5 years, but nothing cured it. Make sure you don't have any inguinal hernias standing ultrasound can see them. The neurectomy is a one hour outpatient surgery, they don't cut too far in as the nerves are right below the skin. See Dr dellon work. I did Amy stein book but didn't help, however I had two muscle tears not seem on the imaging. Definitely try everything first, Dr dellon lists things to rule out and to try before the neurectomy.
I did have an inguinal hernia. Had it repaired with mesh. Within a year it had curled and irritated the nerve even more! Needless to say it was taken out,two years ago.
It was called a hidden hernia as it didn't show on any imaging. So had a year of appointments wondering what the pain was.
I have had a diagnosis of compressed genitofemoral nerve.
I am now discussing spinal cord stimulation with pain management before any surgery.
I tried the spinal cord, it didn't help. Be careful of who implants it, I know a guy who had one and the Dr lost the wire in his back. The nerve resection surgery isn't a huge op..if you decide to go that route. Good luck
I've had several though in a&e, doctors ect and there's only one time I had a urine infection which was cleared with antibiotics. Pain is upper left side under ribs and right down to the top of leg and left side of the bladder. It's worse when it's pressed it aggregates the burning making it worse and when sitting down.
It started late last year (the pain) and I finally got sent to a urologist who did a cystoscopy and found an inflamed bladder. I was surprised as I had no burning when I peed at the time.
I can't say that this is your cause but just wanted to make you aware that NHS urine tests are useless.
No blood in urine and no infectiom. But burning left lower abdomen into the left side of the bladder which kills me at times when I have flare up and when it's filled but doesn't ease either once I've been to the toilet by the way I am only 17years of age. Did you ever experience the same pain in upper as well as lower and back pain
I have no burning or stinging when going to the toilet but burning left side of the bladder and feels worse when bladder fills up and afterwards doesn't seem to ease either
The burning pain comes and goes even when I dont need the toilet. If comes and goes as it pleases. Sometimes in the month I can be pain free. Also I get swelling of the left side of the abdomen only slightly but you can compare it to the right side it's very sore and tender to look at ur feel
Look up biofilm infections. It's an infection in the bladder wall that is hard to get rid of, causes pain that makes life unbearable, and doesn't show up in standard urine dipstick tests and cultures. You can get biofilm ear infections too and the swab comes back negative when there is an infection.
NHS urine dipstick tests miss things. And the urine cultures aren't cultured long enough for bugs to grow.
There's only one doctor who knows how to treat it in London but his clinic has been suspended. I'm going to post about it in a minute so it'll be on the newsfeed.
By the way under my ribs hurts more when I eat or drink. Which has only happened recently prior to that pain. Don't know if I have 2 separate problems.
reading your post a year on i hope all your problems are resolved,I have had pain under my left ribs which is so very sore and gp has never suggested a reason .Have burning sensation "down below" and stinging when i sit down, pass urine.if it is nerves it could be the answer to mine pain
