Pain on left side is extremely uncomfortable when I sit. I have no discomfort until about 4 pm each day.

Once the discomfort starts I cannot sit. I have not been eating much because that makes it worse. I have severe diverticulosis but the pain is above that area. I have taken laxatives thinking it could be caused by constipation but I don't think I am constipated. Would constipation cause this feeling? I feel bloated but I don't notice any swelling when I look in the mirror. Both my father and husband died of pancreatic cancer so this type of thing bothers me. No other pain anywhere. Thank you for taking time to read this.

Hi there have you asked for a full check up, blood tests and stuff if not I would go and ask for it to be done as there are many things that can cause these problems. I'm suffering myself but on my right side . I hope you find the cause and good luck . Do some internet research too it might help. Sorry I can't give you much but I hope this helps. Yes sometimes constipation can cause it as I have ibs but I still recommend that you go to your doctor and ask for more tests as there is several things that can cause the pain .

Hi there I think left sided pain is where diverticulosis pain usually is. I had a pelvic abscess which causes pain there and also met a lady in hospital who had an abscess caused by the diverticulosis. She said she had felt generally unwell and a bit feverish, as well and had to have IV antibiotics. I would go to the GP and mention about the possibility of an abscess, maybe ask to get scans or tests to rule this out. Good luck

Also if you were worried about ovarian cancer he scans would rule that out as well. You can ask the GP for a blood test- I think it is called CA 125, to chek for it.
