Lcagar63 - there's not much worse is there? I'm sorry you are suffering. Have you told your GP? It would be a good idea. If pain causes you to need medication then you need your doctor to know.

I'm sure you already know that pain killers add to the problem of constipation? And that drinking more, slowly over the day, enables more water to stay in the colon and ease constipation? And that coffee and tea add to the problem by increasing urine output? And that in warmer weather, even if you don't feel or notice overheated, you will lose water through sweating?

I'm sure you know all these things anyway, but in any case I'd deffo be asking the doctor. She can give you something safe to relieve it and check that there's no other cause. THIS is so important - PBC can predispose to problems in the bowel and you'd best be safe about this. Best wishes

Hi Lcagar63; I agree with 4thPlinth-- might be an idea to keep a food/fluid diary as well. Sometimes we think our diet has more fiber & fluid than in reality . I also have issues with constipation-- have to make conscious effort to stay hydrated & I also try to eat 10 prunes daily ( they help with osteopenia/osteoporosis) , so double duty! Good luck!

Hi

Sorry to read your suffering so badly, and hope it's not the pain killers that are making you so bad!

I agree with Believer, prunes are a good thing to try out, but lots of water is must too! If nothing is working then I suggest you put a call into your GP tomorrow!

Good luck and hope movement on a regular basis happens soon !

Hi

Hope your a little better today? I can relate as I suffered severely as a child and the district nurses was brought in every time ! For some reason my problem was sorted after the birth of my son which wont help you !

I'm thinking about you as it's not a nice situation to be in!

Remember call your doc if no better !
