Im not trying to scare you but it sounds like a experience I had when I found out I had varicies. Do you feel terribly bloated & feel like belching all the time? Feet, abdomen, & hands swollen, Belly churning? It could be a varicies rupture. If this is the issue you should go to the ER. Explain to them you are stage 4 PBC & that you feel you need a ultrasound to see if you have fluid in your abdomen. If you do have fluid it is most likely blood & this must be drained from your belly. Again Im not trying to startle you, it just sounds all too familiar to me. Prayers everything is ok & please keep us posted.

Thank you for the reply I do suspect you are right I'm in the UK and it was a busy hospital ward they x rayed my stomach at 8pm I had been there all day and said it's full and sent me home with lactolose 2 days later I'm no better I still look pregnant and I'm still having bright orange diarrhoea xxx

If it's orange, do you think it could be blood tinged? You should go to the ER.

Hi

Just thinking how can it be constipation if you got diarrhoea. I would go back to a&e I know its bank holiday and its busy but best be safe. Please keep us updated. All the best

You can get diarrhoea from severe constipation, think it's from the build up of liquid in your bowel. As others have said best go to a&e .

Best wishes

I said exactly same thing but was told it was overflow from my full bowel I feel no better and will phone liver specialist secretary on Tuesday to ask opinion as docs don't always understand pic xx

The thing is, if it is a varicies bleed you need attended to sooner than later. The idea of waiting isn't really a option because there have been cases where these sort of bleeds can turn fatal. You must get to the ER & INSIST that something other than constipation could be going on due to your autoimmune disease. When this happened to me, if I would have waited, or gone back to sleep to see how I felt in the morning (it happened at 1:00 a.m) there was a huge chance that I would have choked on my own blood. Plus your hemoglobin is dropping as this happens which isn't good either.

It sounds like ascites to me.

True, but just like the bleeds this needs tending to sooner than later. I also have the ascities, it's all part of the lovely stage 4.

I'd definitely go to the ER. I'm in stage 4 but luckily have had that issue. They do tell me to watch out for a distended stomach though. Prayers and hugs.

Thx. I have other issues instead but I'm a positive person and I believe that God is with me and will get me through it.

That sounds a bit unuasual .. were u specific about your pbc?

Phone your clinic where U see your consultant and explain how U are feeling .. ask the secretary if you can have an apt with your consultant earlier than scheduled

If it was me I would request a second opinion .. it may well be constipation and that causes pain like no other...

but if you're having excessive pain and not getting relief then go back ..

It's time to have courage and be clear about what's going on for you ..

bring some info with you re pbc , lots of docs gave not heard of it .. surprising but true..

it's too important to leave it ..

Your health is vital.
