I see you posted a day ago and no one has been able give you an answer.
Over the years and the different forums people have written about the different symptoms that they suffer with that are not listed as symptoms of PBC although the PBC/AIH overlap is well known and as you say this will be treated with steroids. There is the old mantra that although you may have PBC not everything is PBC related however it does seem that once a person has an auto immune disease other auto immune diseases follow on.
I hope someone with a personal experience will come along soon and be able to share their experience with you or that you do not have to wait long to see your consultant.
Hi, I cannot, personally, help in response to your current results/possible diagnoses, but why not talk to the 'PBC Foundation' who host this site on 'Health unlocked.' Follow the links at the top of page, or Google 'PBC Foundation' to find their website, where you will also see phone and email links, for talking to their trained advisors.
Another site - also to be found on 'Health Unlocked' - which may be even more useful for you, is the 'BLT' site (British Liver Trust) . They are site devoted to helping people with all sorts of Liver conditions, so they may be able to give more all-round advice.
Unfortunately janine541 once you have an autoimmune disease we are predisposed to collecting another I do not have the overlay but I do have the autoimmune disease Polymyalgia Rheumatica and have been on a tapering dose of prednisolone for 16mths, the trouble with taking steriods you often have to take several other medications to counteract the potential side effects of it.
