Just been diagnosed with aih/pbc overlap

I've had pbc for 5 years

Does anybody know the mean life expectancy for prednisone unresponsive aih treatment combined with pbc?

I have both too. I am diagnosed late January of 2017. My dr told me that pbc is secondary to aih for me. I’m ok. Taking meds and trying to move on and live. I have new friends that understand and care so do you. We will be fine. I’m taking prednisone and AZA for the aih and Urso for pbc

Hi, Terri.

I don't have stats for life expectancy, for all there may be other info that can help.

Feel free to message me.

Robert.

Hi Robert. Can you tell me the difference between Aih and inflammatory pbc?

I've had pbc for 5 years but just been diagnosed with aih overlap. I'm pretty worn out and in pain and I'm a foster carer and a granny and need more energy. I'm down to 20mg prednisone now started at 40 for two weeks then decrease by 5

Hadely 3 months..

Terri if you are in the USA. You should try to get an apt with the Mayo Clinic. In my case and being diagnosed so early, according to my Dr. I should be ok. Of course I have to watch out for other diseases and side affects but for me my pbc is secondary to aih. What country are you in

Hi

I'm in UK

I didn't have inflammation at the first biopsy but I have this one 6 weeks ago. Saw the consultant last week and they don't think the prednisone is working, well not the way it's supposed to.

I do look like professor Klump tho lol

Well the plump goes down as you drop your mgs. I’m down to 10 mgs well I was given the option to stay on prednisone or change to the other steroid. With the other one, the side affects are less severe. I would be able to lose weight and my on face. In the negative side. There is a 10% chance of it not working for me. I decided to stay with the prednisone. As long as I’m not having any other affects. I don’t want to flare. I have to stay on prednisone till aug of next year. I was expecting a taper at my last apt. Didn’t happen. But oh well
