Hello, looking for advice please

Hello everyone. I’m not sure if I’m in the right place?! But here goes. Bloods taken (BlueHorizon) in May. Results Iron 10.3 (5.8-34.5) Ferritin 93.6 (13-150) Transferrin Sat 17.6 (20-50) TIBC 58.2 (45-81) CRP hs 13.58 (0-5)

Medichecks in Jan Iron 14.4 (5.8-34.5) TIBC 57.6 (45-81) UIBC 43.2 (24.2-70.1) Transferrin Sat 24.9 (20-50) Ferritin 90.3 (13-150) CRP hs 23.05 (0-5)

Could anyone advise me if these results are reasonable? Am struggling getting Thyroid levels sorted so I wondered if my iron levels need improvement too. Still feeling really fatigued, lethargic, no energy, always tired but not able to sleep well. Thanking you all.

I'm not an iron expert:

The transferrin test, TIBC, UIBC, and transferrin saturation, along with other iron tests, help evaluate the body’s amount by measuring several substances in the blood. These tests are often ordered simultaneously, and the results are interpreted together to help diagnose and/or monitor iron deficiency or overload.

The results of these multiple iron tests depend on the combinations of the results.

there is a table that spells out the combinations of results in this web site:

Skip down to the section entitled, "Interpreting test results"

on this page:

Thank you, I have had a read and from what I can make out my Ferritin looks ok at nearly 60% though the range. Iron just over 15%, Trans Sat under range at /8% and TIBC at 36%. Just unsure how to interpret all the results together. Again many thanks for your reply 🙏

repeat these results you just gave me in a list, except just a low, normal or high rather than numbers.

Then I'll look at the table and tell you what it states.

well, i'm no doctor but looking back at the results in your initial post, I don't find a match on this table. I guess i'm not much help.

Raised CRP could indicate inflammation somewhere in the body. Will read through your posts on TUK ....

Thank you Marz, May Vit D 101 (75-200) B12 Active 115 (37.5-150) Folate 31.90 (8.83-60.8)

Jan Vit D 99 (37.5-188), Vit B12 active 131 (37.5-188). Folate >45 (8.83-60.8)

Currently taking Vit B complex, Vit D +mk spray. I’ve just finished taking 3 arrows, could only take one a day! Was doubled up in agony when I tried two.

Sounds good ! If you were taking the B Complex at the time of testing your result will be skewed !

How much VitD are you taking ? Do you follow an anti-inflammatory diet ?

Thanks again for reply. Stopped the Vit B complex 5 days before blood draw. Usually take 4 sprays of Vit D +mk. I’ve got arthritis and CRP been raised for years. I must admit I’ve never heard of an anti-inflammatory diet. I also take 2 hands full of pumpkin seeds every morning and Brazil nuts for selenium. I’ve been following the thyroid advice for blood draws such as fasting etc. Just wish my addled foggy brain could take in what these things mean!😢 once again thank you 🙏

Brazil Nuts only contain Selenium if grown in soil containing selenium ! Check the packet - it should say....

Stopping the B Complex 5 days before testing is with regard to Biotin. B12 will still be skewed as it takes months to reach baseline for you.

Any condition ending with 'itis' - is due to inflammation - arthritis - appendicitis and so on. Often can start with the gut. Loads of information on-line re anti- inflammatory eating plans. Click my username and you will see my Bio - Gut TB - Crohns - Hashi's - B12D.

Gluten ?

Hi, yes Brazil nuts are from M&S and state grown in selenium rich soil. I’ll Google anti inflammatory diets, I’ve never heard of them before. Was so jealous of you living in Crete though!😅 🙏
