Hey everybody,
Been posting on this forum for a month now since learning I was very deficient on B12 (159) and have been supplementing ever since. I've experienced a lot of benefit since beginning supplementation but I got some test results from the hematologist back that I was hoping you guys could look at and help me understand.
Partiel Cell AB Screen - It came back negative. Not sure what this test means or has to do with b12 deficiency
Intrinsic Factor Blocking Antibody Screen - this actually came back positive BUT I had been supplementing heavily with b12 for 2 weeks prior to this test. Oral supps and probably 5 to 7 injections. Maybe more. I believe that leads to false positives correct?
Vitamin B6 - This came back sky high at 41.4 with 2.1 - 21.7 being normal. Any idea why this would be so high? I did use a vitamin b12/b6 mixed sublingual supplement a few times prior to the test but less than a handful of times. No idea why this is so high.
Reticulocyte Count - It came back normal at 46k when normal is 25k - 90k. Retic % was at 1.2%
LDH - Came back normal at 144 (normal 100-220)
Vitamin B1 (Thiamine) - Came back normal
Copper - Came back pretty close to normal (62, 70-140 normal)
Methylmalonic Acid Test - This came back great at 88 (87 - 318 normal) showing that the homocysteine and MMA is now normalized after being very high before.
I'd really appreciate guidance on the vitamin b6 as that's the test that I'm a little worried about as high levels of b6 can cause issues. I haven't taken a b6 supplement in weeks now but idk.
Thank you everyone
