Confused by my calcium levels..

After going to my doctor with symptoms of b12 deficiency I had blood test for b12 and calcium.

When the test results came back I was told that both are in the normal range B12 752 ,and

calcium & albumen level is 37 the calcium adjusted level is 2.41.

I thought that the normal range for calcium was between 9and 10 and not quite sure to make of this.

I have B12 injections 4 weekly... I also take thyroxin and oral calcium with vitamin c.

Can anyone explain to me what the calcium levels mean please and are they in the normal range.

Pugdogs, calcium ranges are very narrow and typically will be under 2.5. You need to ask your GP range for the range when you ask for results.

This page has range for corrected calcium as 2.05 to 2.60 mmol/l (can vary by lab though). So yours is well within the normal range.

Hi, Have they found calcium in your urine? It could be Hyperparathyroidism. I had three of mine removed 5 years ago due to my calcium levels, even though the results were quite low, and was back to normal health for the first time in years.

I've had PA for 25 years now caused by ME. I have learnt that my health will never be great and I live each day as best as I can and am better to take what life throws at me. I am currently recovering from a Gallbladder removal.

It will take time and you will get better. If you're not happy with the doctor ask to see someone else. Say that you are still feeling unwell and ask for weekly calcium tests. Good Luck.
