Does anyone have any idea what's so ever why I can not tolerate vit D supplements. I'm low in vit D. I need it. But I rwct badly to it.I don't understand and every doctor and natropath I speak to say it's not possible. Well it is because it happens to me.

Maybe it's the quality of the Vitamin D supplement being used, some of them have bad fillers. Consider joining a Vitamin D group on Facebook and seeing what kind is recommended. I bought the kind by Sports Medicine although I have committed myself to get more sun and eat foods that have Vitamin D in them.

Out of interest, what reactions are you having from Vit D?

I’ve recently started SI B12 and take Vit D, Iron and Folic acid and one (or all) of those is giving me some problems. Accepting that ‘reversing out’ is likely from the B12.

Thanks.

I am starting one at a time so I know which I can and can not tolerate.Vit D gives me racing heart and anxiety

Thank you. I’ve not had heart palpitations but anxiety remains one of my biggest issues since finding out that I was B12 deficient with PA. As far as I can see there are many factors that can affect anxiety.

Its only when I consume vit D

Interesting. I’ll stop for a couple of days to see if it has any effect. But clearly keeping Vit D at good levels is very important. I’ll sit in this brief period of sun we are having in the UK!

The vitamin D tablets usually make me sneeze - sometimes a race to swallow it before I do !

I think just the "dustiness" of it irritates saliva duct/sinus. Current infections, so could be either. Otherwise, no noticeable effect for me.

When you say "can't tolerate", what do you mean in terms of how it makes you feel ?

I get my Vit D in a little capsule of sunflower oil from NuU Nutrition. They aren't dusty at all. Got them from Amazon, about £10 I think. They are definitely giving me decent levels of vit D.

I was told by GP I was low and put on vitamin D via NHS, the tablets gave me hart palpitations and made me feel just as bad as they did. Good. I then bought my own vitamin D supplements. These were vitamin D3 and K3 2500 IU and had absolutely no side-effects whatsoever, and am on two a day. So I would surgest if you on prescription vitamin D look at what is in them and maybe suppliment yourself or ask for a diffrent branding. I have other medication and the branding that makes them can have a big difference even though it’s essentially the same product!

Hi Popcorn,

I also have issues with Vit D3. I tried many different brands and forms. I get intolerable nausea from them. The PA that I was seeing recommended that I try a Metagenics product. I was very skeptical, but decided to give one more product a chance. It works well for me, no reaction whatsoever. My dose is 1000 units, one daily preferably with a fatty meal. I could have opened a pharmacy with the collection of products I had on hand. Anyway, I don't know if Metagenics is a source available to you if you are in Europe, but here is a link to the one that I use. It is also available from Amazon in the US. Good luck, our bodies are certainly unique.

Healing crisis like when people feel worse when starting b12.

I react to vitamin D when my magnesium is low. Do you take magnesium? Magnesium glycenate helps me with this problem.

Came here to say likewise. If I neglect to take enough magnesium, vitamin D causes great levels of anxiety for me and I feel as if I am jumping out of my skin. Most individuals are low in magnesium.
