Methotrexate for osteoarthritis or inflammatory arthritis, or fibro

As I posted previously rheumy inisists must get off pred, dont have pmr anymore regardless of chronic pain, says osteo or iflammatory while ago said dont have RA did test for that last year, yet pamphlet he gave me with metho prescription says methotrexate is used for RA ?

There is some evidence that methotrexate can work for some types of osteoarthritis. Because osteoarthritis can also be inflammatory. As you are in Canada I suspect your rheumy will have more freedom with what drops they can use, whereas in the UK rheumy's are not allowed to prescribe methotrexate for osteoarthritis. Not because there is no evidence, but because the evidence is new our medicine regulator NICE hasn't said it can be used.

So methotrexate can be used for any inflammatory arthritis which is RA, but also psoriatic arthritis and others similar, and some clinicians are now also using it in osteoarthritis where there is evidence of inflammation. I hope that makes sense?
