pain eating after hiatus hernia repair.

hey everyone,

I had surgery to repair a hiatus hernia I had in 2019. I’m grateful I have had no acid reflux since but I get this really bad pain in my left shoulder (kind of up inline with my armpit). I went back to hospital for endoscopy and barium swallow because I regurgitate my food and they found everything was fine. I still have soft food to this day. But now the pain in my shoulder has got so bad that after a couple of spoons of food the excruciating pain starts and gets even worse when I breath.

I have seen bits on nerve damage that can happen during the procedure and my surgeon did tell me the op took longer and needed an extra incision because he needed to move my liver out the way as it was very enlarged. I was wondering if anyone has had the same or knows if and what nerves can be damaged during.

thanks x
