It could possibly be neuropathic pain - the nerve endings of your nerves have been irritated? I have this, and it’s like my flesh is on fire.

Could it be shingles

It certainly sounds like nerve pain rather than muscle or spinal or an internal issue.

You don’t always get a rash with shingles, despite that being a common symptom, and you can have the rash elsewhere but pain more spread out. Just the “burning” sounds like nerve endings irritated somehow.
