Sore throat

Morning everyone im after some advice , my throat goes extremely sore during the night and im finding it difficult to swallow it does goes a lot easier once im up but still feels strange sometimes, its not a sore throat thats associated with a cold it feels different but cant explain how has anyone experienced anything similar?

You could have silent reflux, the acid burning your throat whilst lying down but not when you’re upright in the day. You could try taking some Gaviscon as per the bottle’s instructions and sleep more upright, with extra pillows, by propping up the top end of your bed higher than the bottom with something sturdy. Google silent reflux and see if it seems likely.

that actually makes sense because i do take prescribed omeprazole Thank you

Yes, that is one possibility for sure. Another is post nasal drip. If you have a runny nose or sinuses draining when lying down, it can cause sore throat.
