Has anyone had thrombus within carotid vessel?

This was picked up by an ultrasound I recently had. I am going out of my mind. Any information/ experience would be much appreciated

If this dislodges it could travel to the brain and cause a stroke. The treatment would be a caroti d enderectomy which would consist of introducing a catheter into the artery and removing the thrombus. The doc who ordered the ultrasound should be able to refer you to the appropriate specialist to discuss the indications and possible complications of the procedure.

Hi, do you have or had this condition or know anybody who has? I am desperate to talk to somebody who experienced this as I feel down and very worried
