Are you going to physical therapy, did you tell them your having issues? To me it sounds like your tendons and muscles are tight from the surgery and physical therapy should be addressing this.

I’d suggest getting an electric heat pad or a wheat bag heated in the microwave. Wrap this round your leg for 20 minutes then using baby oil give yourself a firm massage. You may need to do this twice a day to start with. If it’s excessive swelling I’d suggest ice packs. Osteopathic ones are available on line. Buy 2 and Keep them in the freezer ready for use. However I think you should have proper physiotherapy. I was lucky because my hospital ran a weekly knee class with physios. That was really encouraging because of meeting other patients working at getting mobile again. Ask your GP if there’s one near you.

I am Sorry for you. I’m in a lot of pain too but it’s not about my replacement knee. That has gone very well and was long before the recent accident. But I would say you have to be very positive telling yourself your knee will be fine and you will be pain free. In the meantime work hard at self massage and heat. Have a definite session 3or4 times a day, loosening up your muscles. Do you have a stick? You do need to keep moving. It’s dangerous to keep sitting. Deep vein thrombosis could be a problem. Don’t give up. I’m wishing you all the best. You can make yourself feel better and become more mobile, but don’t risk falls. Keep your mobile phone in your pocket all the time.Take care.

Hello again. Poor you. I’m NOT a medic. I can only say what’s helped me after a knee replacement. Maybe there’s some nerve pain in your thigh. I should contact your GP. About the ice pack. Don’t put it directly on your skin. Wrap it in a tea towel. Also the heat pad should not be directly on your skin. Wear something between it and your leg. I’m sure continuous sitting is not a good idea to get muscles moving. After an hour’s sitting, get up and walk around the house twice.each time will be easier than the last. Use your stick all the time.

Oh Grammie9 ..... pain just stinks and most people never understand, sadly I do. Try your darnest to stand straight when walking or standing even if YOU MUST REST.

Ant suggestion my legs one tkr and one not wake me up every hour on the hour feel like cement and muscle pulling on thighs Jan 8 tkr walking a little. Straighter but still use walker

M so sorry I know the feeling. Yes you’re guarding with your thighs. Are you using a body pillow at night to put between your knees thighs? It helps and you might like it for wrapping your arms around. Maybe try some senior chair yoga. Our pools are shut down but honestly they help a lot for knee and hip surgeries.

I would try laying down putting a thick pillow at your ankles and practice squeeze release and same with at knees do 3x day however many you can start with 10 so be it. Also twisting your body sitting down opposite elbow to knee. And sitting in hard chair like a kitchen one and pushing weight in your palms like trying to lift yourself up. You can’t but it will help with the forward posture. And a theraband on a coat hook or something each end in hand and lighting pulling down this will help with the neck shoulder tension from forward posture. I know pain. I hope this of helps I’m not sure what you can do. And I disagree I think you should be at least flexing your knee best you can or it seizes. I thick a muscle relaxer would be awesome for you and heat pads. You need circulation it’s hard to get circulation in certain areas in ge body to heal. That why you need to try to move throughout the day.

Other things can hurt I get it. Other things get weak. Your pelvis and your glutes might be weak too. The guarding affected your gait. When I needed hip surgery my groin and back hurt and I had a lot of tension in my leg in My thigh I had another surgery in my pelvis just before. I bought a tens unit by Dr Ho as seen in tv they’re about $130 uses batteries used it a few times a day helped and used a tennis ball on my leg. I think you’re having IT band pain I’m pretty sure you are. Google that and see if I’m right. Keep doing those exercises and massaging your leg. Another thing you can do is use a theraband or the tie from your housecoat make a loop slide your lower leg into it lay down and have your leg bent and just pull the rope going outwards good luck
