Hi all,I know your all in pain to,and I sincerely empathise.

I don’t have a diagnosis, well I have been told different things,IBS,perennial pain, but no one really knows. All I can say is I’ve been through all the tests specialist, and medication. And nothing works.

BUT my concern now is the pain is getting more unbearable, and I’m worried what do I do when I can no longer cope with the severity. It starts in a morning and goes on until I go to bed to sleep. Which I have to take a Temazapam for,but once asleep no pain. How do you people handle chronic pain?? Any help whatsoever I would be eternally grateful.

ANY HELP,PLEASE. IM SO WORRIED ABOUT THE SEVERITY OF PAIN I CAN TAKE.

I sympathise with you , many of us don't even get relief at night . I take my tramadol around 5pm each night which helps most nights. Warmth is also very good and relaxing before sleep. But in the day sometimes I feel so fed up and the only way I can cope is by keeping busy if only at a slow pace it detracts from the pain. But if I am too active I can't walk by the end of the day due to pain. I do not know what to say to you as I have that same feeling as you and it only takes a cold or something else to make you feel you can't cope. Many turn to things like alcohol & drugs to control the pain sadly. Talk can take your mind off it too so keep coming to the site for chats and updates

Thank you for your kind words, like you I find the more active I am,the less I feel pain, but I have quite a few other health problems,Emphysema being one,so I can’t be busy for long spells, but during the day I am as active as I can be. But on the evening when we normally just want to sit watch TV and relax,I’m getting to a stage where I don’t know what to do with myself. I may cry now and then, and that then worries my hubby, who then wants to take me to A&E,which I’ve done before, but that’s just,a Pethidine,or Morphine injection and home. Just no point apart from a few hours relief. I have had most the drugs people talk about, with no results. My best drugs are Diazepam,as I can take as needed, which helps with the anxiety, and Temazapam for bed. Now I feel I’m just ranting on,so I will stop.

I have seen you Katie on here for years,so I do feel I know you by name. I used to be on here as Gemini71,but my hubby bought me a new iPad,and I lost my account.

Yes I am a long standing member, I used to be on BLF forum before healthunlocked took over. Like yourself I have lung problems as well as pain. Some days it can be downing but I don't take any antidepressants even in small doses, the tramadol reduces the demand on my lungs but very little for pain and helps me sleep. I have asthma/COPD which causes a lot of problems with which inhaler I can take & what painkillers. So like yourself I have to manage with what does help including heated pads and adjust living conditions to create the least work. Look after yourself and do what is best for you including have a good moan or scream now and then to release the tension. I am at the moment changing home to meet my new health needs which is a nightmare.

You need to go back to your doctor for some pain killers. I am in constant lower back pain but take reltebon which tales the pain to a dull ache which is manageable for me. Don’t sit there in pain when you don’t have to. Good luck!!

Thank you,but my GP,pain specialist, etc, have tried me on most pain killers, which is why I worry .because what’s wrong with me that pain killers don’t help. Mind you my hubby always says I could take enough medication to put an elephant down, and it has no effect on me.🙄

Reltebon is a morphine based slow release tablet and I find them great
