This sounds like nerve damage. Done during the operation?

This sounds not normal. I would write to the surgeon asking for advice. If he does not want to know write to the hospital to complain and they may refer you to someone else to stop a claim going in (I presume this was done privately in which case they really don’t like hassle)

Hello. It does seem like nerve damage and I am going through the pain all day every day as I had a bleed stroke in my brain in the part that deals with nerves. I have the sensation of having scolding water being tipped over me and being slashed with a knife. I too have been on both Amitriptyline and Gabapentin and yes they do make you sleepy. Neither of these did anything for me but I have grown to compartmentalise the pain. The only thing that has helped me is to go on antidepressants which helps you cope with the pain. Ask your doctor. I also go to a pain clinic and you should see what your doctor says about that too. There are consultants that actually specialise in different types of pain and although it did not help me (because my bleed was at the source of the part of the brain that deals with nerves) it may very well help you, Give it a whorl and let me know, I do know exactly what you are going through and I do sympathise.
