hi,

For the past 3 months I have been feeling this itchy burning discomfort underneath my scalp mainly on my left side. It feels wet , itchy burning and uncomfortable like an object is stuck in there . It’s quite distressing , it gets worse when I lie down or relax.

i used to feel pleasurable tingling sensations on my left side and now I just feel discomfort and pain

how do I get rid of this discomfort? It’s very unpleasant and distracting ?

I have been prescribed amitryptilline but it doesn’t work. Its constantly there and I feel uncomfortable all the time - I can’t enjoy anything because of the pain . I’m struggling to motivate myself because of it , the itchy discomfort is making me quite depressed

Am aware this problem has been going on a little while now. You read need to go back to gp to discuss situation with them. Some people on your other posts have made some suggestions as to what the problem could be. I would write those down and discuss it with gp. There are other medications similar to amitryptilline that could be tried if this isn’t helping.

Potentially gp needs to refer you for tests to see what is going on if they cannot help….

Ho it could be many things do you have your hair dyed ? What medication are you taking ? I would go see the doctor it could be something simple I used to itch terribly but found out it was a side effect of my tablets and got put on antihistamine to combat the itching so maybe that's what it could be but you need to get doctor to check it out for you that's your safest bet please let us know how you get on and remember your not alone stay strong

Hi just an update . The intense burning achy pain has intensified and worsened and it’s reached a peak tonight . I was unable to relax and feel pleasure from bathing , massage and cannot soothe my scalp. It feels like my scalp is burning hot to the touch and inflamed and like an object is stuck inside it. It is very uncomfortable and quite distressing . It has really damaged my mental health over the past months I think one of the reasons my mental health has been so bad recently is because od this pain and discomfort

The worst thing is I hear voices in my head telling me that they have operated on me to try and punish me because I don’t ‘deserve ‘ pleasure and should be punished and made uncomfortable
