What to do now?
Hi
You could go back to your Gp and say how bad you feel, you shouldn't be left like this. Take care Lynne
You could rely on the free NHS or you could see an Alexander teacher for constructive help to manage your condition.
I have had the same problem with a rheumatologist. He said there wasn't much wrong, probably fibro, no matter how many times I said my fingers were swollen. Apparently people that used to have small delicate fingers don't get recognised as having swollen fingers because they look 'normal'.
The physio I saw said the same until I made her look at the x-rays. Turns out I was right, I have loads of osteophytes, boney growths that happen in the later stages of osteoarthritis!
Apparently things like osteoarthritis start long before it can be seen in x-rays. But for some drs. if you can't see it it doesn't exist.
I agree, go back to your GP and explain again. Some GPs do the 'three strikes' thing. you have to go in with the same symptoms three times before they take you seriously.
