Hi everyone....my PV jak2+ seems to be behaving itself at the moment, and want to thank everyone for their help with my recent mouth sores and advice on a mouth wash that is working brilliantly.
3 years ago I had sciatica, L5 disc, I had operation to rectify it, which worked well, I still get flair ups now, which I am told is the scar now protruding onto the sciatic nerve ;
:-(( I take Meloxicam, and nortryptalin, and up to a week ago has worked really well, why suddenly are they not working :-(( finding it hard to sit, and move around again. Trying to do some exercises my osteopath gave me, not sure they are helping either.
Anyone else experience flair ups ?

Hi I have had 3 ops on the L5/S1 disc and various injections. Last op was half a year ago. Just recently I got a sudden massive lot of pain and numbness in my leg due to sciatica. A scan revealed scar tissue sticking to the sciatic nerve at that level. I was told to pull my leg to my chest while laying on my back to try and release the nerve. Do this several times a day up to 10 times at a time. Also myofascial therapy and another foraminal injection were recommended. I am trying to reduce my pain medication as I am on pregabalin and tramadol and feel very forgetful. Hope you feel better soon.
Oh, thank you Emma....me too, I have had two ops and injections. Last mri scan shows scar tissue now causing the problem. Thanks for the exercises, I am doing those too, but will do more often now.
Since I posted, I now have sciatica in my other leg, I have been seeing chiropractor, and the last two times, I have felt good when leaving hi, but by evening, all the pain is back again ( not sure it’s getting into the car that flares it up again) I go back and see him in two weeks. But this morning, I could hardly walk, the pain is excruciating, I have done my exercises, and will do them again at least three times a day. I may “try” and get out to walk for a short while...this is all so frustrating, and my poor husband feels bad as there is nothing he can do to help me.
Hi Yvette, I know where you are coming from. I have had the injection since my last post and whereas the previous umpteen once did not do much this one helped quite a bit. Unfortunately the pain started creeping back in. I have reasonably good days and bad days. I was advised not to see a chiropractor but we are all different. I have spinal physio which helps somewhat, myofascial therapy which does help and oscillating massage and Alexander technique. This combined with doing my exercises and walking does help. I am still walking with one crutch but hope it may not for much longer. Just the past few days my lower back has been playing up a lot and having had 3 ops you-panic immediately but of course it could just be muscle strain. Sciatica is up and down but plaques me a lot at night. Like you my poor husband feels bad too and is run ragged with it all. Hugs 🤗
Off to physio in 10 minutes. At least my leg is getting stronger which was paralysed after the first op. Nobody knows why and it took 4 months to get back to full feeling but hence why I am still walking with a crutch. Things will get there is what I keep on saying. Keep going 🌻🌻
