Hi, relatively now to this site. I’ve had sinusitis for about a month and now past few days been experiencing shooting leg pains, aches in legs and weak feeling legs when I’m doing nothing. The first night it started my legs and bottom of my back were aching all the way through, now since then it’s been shooting pains in different places, from soles of my feet to my thighs to my toes.
Has anyone else experienced these sort of pains? I find it hard to relate it to the sinusitis, although my doc has said my sinusitis is related to a bad viral infection so could this infection be a cause of pain?
All the best.

I have problems for years with sinuses but I can't see it being connected to your legs . headaches yes and pressure on face as your GP referred you to ent . Clive
I’m going back to drs in 2 weeks where he said if it hasn’t improved he will refer me to ENT. I’m wondering if I’ve been misdiagnosed with sinusitis, as it’s only really the sinus pressure in my nose that points to sinusitis, it started with the pressure in my nose and feeling very nauseous and fatigued, is that normal with sinusitis? Thanks Clive!
No not really you can have stuff coming from your. Head down back of throat I used to get really bad headaches but that was a combination of sinuses and cervical myelopathy do you get tingling in your legs you mentioned bottom of your feet I'd that hitching . Clive
Yes I do get tingling in feet/legs. If it’s not shooting pains it’s a strange tingling feeling almost like a stabbing sensation on my skin.
I do have a bit of the post nasal drip and slightly congested nose, but everything else that seems to be related to sinusitis I don’t seem to have, leaving me wondering if it’s sinusitis or something else.
I’ve been taking steroid nasal spray so maybe that’s eased the congestion and post nasal drip
The thing with your sinuses is it could be an allergy or an infection causing it, but also it can be a muscle causing it, so ask doc to check muscles around head and neck as well as the usual stuff.
The leg and back pain could be another muscle thing but only your doctor can tell you for sure.
So ask them everything you can think of and also stop worrying about it.
Viral infections like flu can cause various aches, however if you are now suffering pain you need a further appointment or telephone appointment to ask your GP the cause. It is important you seek advice from a health Professional. All dependent on how these pains are related. Your GP will treat in the best way possible. He will need to see you
Could it be caused by posture or lifting heavy items ?. Sometimes sitting crumpled up can put stress on the hip and upper legs
Warm compresses may help in the short term, also some Nurophen, you can get at a Supermarket.
Doctor says it’s some sort of viral infection that’s causing sinus problem/sinusitis, so yeh I’m not sure if it can be related to my infection, as The aches and pains have onset only recently, whereas I’ve had this infection for over a month. Nope not lifted anything heavy or haven’t done any running or walking out of the ordinary that would warrant leg pains, will certainly phone my GP tomorrow.
I have had a disc herniation (in fact it herniated 3 times but that’s beside the point here). It started with a seriously bad back which then proceeded into bad shooting pains and numbness in my left leg. It was sorted by a microdiscectomy (times 3). The point is that if you cough or sneeze hard or badly this at times if you are unlucky can cause a disc to herniate due to a multitude of reasons which may have build up before. It probably is not the case here but it might be worth mentioning.
